Had a great weekend. Saturday I set out with my wife for a day in Aberystwyth on the bus. The ups and downs of that bus are better than a roller coaster ride, except it last for 30 minutes and you don’t have a sick bag.
First thing we did when we got to Aber was to have something to eat, a breakfast, as it was still early. After that and a lovely cup of filtered coffee, we set out for a slow, very slow walk to the sea.
From the castle to the old bandstand, soon to be the new bandstand. A slow walk watching the sea coming in and out, passed by pointless joggers and couples holding hands. Relaxing isn’t the word for it.
We then popped into a few shops, games, games and more games. Then started the trek up to the Aber Arts centre, taking breath every now and again before we died of asthma attacks. The coffee may not have been a good idea after all.
We got our tickets for the film : Star Wars – Force Awakens, then went for another drink. Coke for wife, bottle of Cider for me. While I sat and drank, lots of people passed, including children in leotards, it was warm inside and it was lucky it was because they would have froze, brrrr!
We watched the film, no spoilers, apart from it works better a second time. Then we made our way back into town to catch the bus home. We got to the bus station just as the bus arrived. Back in Mach we popped into Co-op and got some beer, three bottles of rampant. Fish and Chips from Hennigans, as they are closed for 3 or 4 weeks. Then back home for a night of PC gaming for me.
The perfect day out for me, and best of all with my favourite girl.
